Hojicha
Description:

Hojicha is roasted giving it a unique flavor and smell, meaning toasted tea, a common grade leaf called bancha, a lower grade leaf then sencha, is used for the roasting. The roasting makes for a toasty, slightly caramel-like flavor. The tea is low in caffeine and is commonly enjoyed before bed or as an after dinner tea. Very nice, this is definitely a style of tea everyone should try.

Tea Origin:

Japan

Kathy, it might be hard to find Mariage Freres Hojicha, outside of the Paris and Tokyo stores but you might check your local Japanese market to see if they carry another brand of hojicha.
